Our Vision
To become a parish community equipped to grow in the likeness of Jesus Christ, train up disciples, reach the lost, and help establish new parishes in Edmonton and beyond.
Our Road Map
Growing as disciples of Christ will take time and intentionality. Here are signposts along the way to help as we plan to train up disciples and assess our ministries supporting our mission and vision for spiritual growth.
- Practice spiritual disciplines together like Bible reading, prayer, and fasting on a regular basis. [Deut 6:4-9, Ps 119:11]
- Gather weekly to receive the ministries of the Word and Table so we may confess and repent of our sins, receive God’s grace, and return to the world with a renewed faith to love God and serve him. [Acts 2:42-47, Heb 10:25]
- Learn to articulate and contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints. [I Pt 3:15, Jd 1:3]
- Join a small group so we may share life together in Christ, learn and practice with others the knowledge of God’s Word, and receive training to teach and care for others. [Jn 13:34-35; Rom 13:10; 15, 16; I Thess 5:11, Prvbs 27:17]
- Identify and use our spiritual gifts to serve needs in and outside the CtK community. [I Cor 12:7, Jer 29:7; Eph 2:10; Tit 2:14]
- Develop a burden to know and care for our neighbour including the “least of these” in our neighbourhoods and city. [Mt 25:40, Ja 1:27]
- Serve and care for those in our families according to biblical instruction. [Eph 5:22-33, 6:1-4; Col 3:21, I Tim 3:4-5, I Tim 5:8]
- Train up children and youth in the fundamentals of the faith so they may understand and articulate for themselves the faith handed down to them. [Jd 1:3, Deut 6:6-7, Prbs 22:6, Ps 78:4-7, Mt 28:19-20]
- Offer discipleship and mentorship, while also being willing to receive discipleship and mentorship from others. [2 Tim 2:2, Tit 2:3-5, I Cor 11:1]
- Open up our homes to be places of hospitality and outposts of peace to one another and to our neighbours. [Rom 12:13, Heb 13:2, I Pt 4:9]
- Bear witness to the Gospel of Christ through word and deeds. [Acts 1:8, Mt 5:16, Col 3:17, Mt 28:19-20]
